Day 15 Kingston

Today was an easy day in Kingston. Swimming and playing tennis with Auntie Steph.

I climbed an apple tree to get at some apples that the kids could not reach.

Day 14 Montego Bay - Kingston

Anne, Samantha, Phillip and I got in GKNT Friday afternoon for the 30 minute flight into Kingston. Of course, it took over an hour to get an escort to the general aviation ramp in Montego Bay. On climb out, we flew right past our hotel, if you look really closely, you can see Tyler and Michelle doing it in the pool.

Sam and Phillip were really tired.

Final in Kingston ...where it took them over an hour to find somebody to escort me to park GKNT... it probably would have been faster to drive (its only a 3-3.5 hour drive).

We visited my friends Stephanie and Donovan in their stunning house up in the mountains.

Here's a picture of their kids, Benjamin, Jovi (sp?), Shannon along with Phillip and Samantha.

Day 17 Key West - Orlando

I got up early, flew Anne and the kids fron Kingston into Montego Bay and picked up Tyler. Next was Key West and then Orlando. All was good except GKNT had a vacuum pump failure so the artifical horizon/directional gyro stopped working over Cuba. Fortunately, we were in clear weather when it happened so with assistance of my GPS, it was a relatively minor anoyance.

We were planning on being in Orlando for 2 days anyway and we have already spoken to a mechanic who will be looking at it first thing in the morning. Hopefully it is something minor.

I should have time to catch up and post some pictures tonight.

Day 14-17

Anne the kids and I are leaving Tyler and Michelle in Montego Bay and flying into Kingston to visit with family and friends. Monday (March 1st) I will drop off Anne and the kids in Montego Bay pick up Tyler and fly to Key West and hopefully on to Orlando.

Anyway, that's the plan... as long as the weather and bureaucracy permits...

Is anybody actually reading this?

Day 13 Negril

Today we went to Negril. On the way to Negril, we stopped at Silent Waters a beautiful resort that our friend Jean Manages.

After we left Silent Waters, we stopped for coconut water and Jelly.

We went to the craft market in Negril where I gave Samantha $10 U.S. to spend...

She negotiated hard and got this turtle for $4 and decided to keep $6 for later.

The beaches in Negril are probably some of the best in the world with nice white sand. Unfortunately, today it was rough and windy.

Day 12 Montego Bay

With the exception of really people in the room below us being involved in excessively loud nocturnal activities, the resort was great, so today we just hung out and I got caught up on my sleep.

My Uncle Manny is working with my cousin Audrey are in the process of taking over a bakery in Montego Bay. I was able to stop in and say hi.

We then had dinner with George and Jean....

Just a nice quiet day in Jamaica.

Day 11 Ocho Rios

We took the day to go to Ocho Rios and to climb up Dunn's river falls.

On the way there, we stopped at the place Columbus landed when he discovered Jamaica in 1494.

Phillip loves the falls... Samantha less so.

Sugar cane... a nice Jamaican treat.
